Carpet Selection and Maintenance for Libraries: A to Z

Selecting the right carpets in library design enhances their functionality and visitor enjoyment. Carpets shape a library's overall atmosphere and create a philosophical center.

Carpets That Don't Conduct Fire

One of the main advantages of antistatic carpets is their ability to prevent fire spread. These carpets reduce electrical charges in library halls, offering assistance to emergency responders.

To prevent fire spread, carpets are often painted with special antistatic materials. Such carpets may be ideal for libraries where electronic devices are present.

Trends

Maintaining a modern and trendy appearance in a library attracts visitors. A variety of options include viral trends, counter-trends, and classic models.

Viral: Carpets with the blue and gray color combination, one of the most popular colors of 2023.
Classic: Carpets featuring traditional colors to reflect the library's central role in society.
Counter-trend: Modern designs that incorporate cultural or eco-friendly themes.

Technical Features

Selecting the right carpets for a library is crucial from both acoustic and hygiene perspectives. Carpets must have fire-retardant features, anti-fuzzing properties, and be antistatic.

Acoustic performance: Acoustic carpets reduce sound propagation, creating a more comfortable environment.
Hygiene benefits: Carpets with easy cleaning and maintenance features are essential. Options like pile retainers and anti-fuzzing carpets are ideal choices.

Purchase Information

When purchasing carpets for libraries, be mindful of price reductions by the square meter or per unit. Purchase options also include installment payments for carpet purchases.

Square meter: 5% discount on carpets covering 100 m².
Unit-based: 8% discount when purchasing 5 carpets.

Summary

Selecting the right carpets for a library is important both aesthetically and technically. Choosing appropriate colors and designs can enhance your library's functionality as well as its aesthetic appeal.
